To those who stream all their entertainment — there’s nothing scarier than a WiFi dead zone.

So Xfinity launched xFi Pods: small WiFi extenders that eliminate dead zones in your home. Unfortunately, no one knew they existed.

With Halloween approaching, we created a terrifying social media experience sure to get people’s attention. At the largest, most haunted house in the U.S., we installed Pods to stream Project Dead Zone, a paranormal investigation that goes horribly wrong.

CASE STUDY:

Using xFi Pods, we eliminated every WiFi dead zone at the largest haunted house in the US, the Winchester House— a terrifying, mazelike mansion with 2,000 doors, 160 rooms and 40 staircases.

Then we asked our audience to help uncover the mystery behind the recent spike in paranormal activity.

Thousands joined our live stream and guided a team of paranormal investigators through the mansion.

But half way into the investigation, things took a horrifying turn.
The house became possessed and trapped the team, sending the audience into a panic. Some even called 911.

Carefully orchestrated scare tactics blurred the line between reality and fiction, leading to incredible results.
